At presentations and workshops, I am often asked to recommend tools for authoring mobile learning. I do not recommend any tools, but do encourage them to check with their current authoring tool vendor to see what their plans are for mobile, as many vendors are moving in this direction.Recently I have gathered information on the current tools and have compiled the following list. Great list Judy. How about www.milkit.com.au ? This quiz based mobile learning tool is currently available in Australia and we are looking for international distributors (www.secretsauce.com.au).
ReplyDeleteGreat list, really. I would like to recommend www.ELSYonline.com. ELSYonline provides and maintains a large number of "Learning Nuggets". Learning Nuggets are short interactive learning programs you can use anywhere and any time: from your iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Laptop, Netbook and of course any regular computer with internet access. Customers have the possibillity to create their own Nuggets or to use the existing ones for their staff and clients.
ReplyDeleteI'll add my congrats for a great list and for getting this all together for us! I'd like to add LearningGuide Manager to the authoring too list. It can single-source to Mobile plus EPSS and print. Hope this helps!!

Hi Judy - I found your mobile blog and the published list of mobile tools for education. It looks like you have found alot of interesting companies who offer pretty simple tools. We definately wish to be part of your list -
ReplyDeleteAchieve Labs Inc. ( www.PushMobileMedia.com )
Mobile phones are not just communications devices sparking new modalities of interaction between people; they are also particularly useful computers that fit in your pocket, are always with you, and are nearly always on. There is a definite appeal in gaming for learning using mobile phones. Currently, several companies are experimenting with game-based learning technology for mobiles. Learning something from a small cell phone screen is different than reading a book or browsing through an online learning application. And although most people would prefer the traditional way of learning when the conditions are appropriate, mobile learning has the great advantage of accompanying you everywhere.
